From Latin America to Germany
Marianne Eilers González (b. 1997, Chile) is a director, theatre-maker and writer based in Berlin. Her work explores the intersections of politics, emotion and cultural identity through collaborative and immersive performance.
Her practice is rooted in Intracultural and Immersive Theatre, seeking shared emotional ground across languages and backgrounds. As a Latin American artist in Europe, she foregrounds the political and social realities of marginalised communities, creating audience-centred and language-focused performances where theatre becomes both personal and political.
She studied Arts and Humanities at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, specialising in Theatre with minors in Literature and Psychology, and was actively involved in student politics as part of Nueva Acción Universitaria (NAU).
In 2021 she moved to London to complete an MA in Directing for Stage and Screen, graduating with honours. There she created Alerta, a multidisciplinary piece inspired by Latin American feminist movements, which premiered to a sold-out run at the Bread and Roses Theatre.
Now based in Germany, she combines artistic creation with facilitation work and continues her research into “Language-focused Practices,” exploring how multilingualism and personal narrative shape emotion, authenticity and presence on stage.
